I heard about this 'jehovah' in jw literature - sounds like a bum - sure glad he's not my dad

Jehovah is like a dead beat dad
by MsMcDucket inthe kids don't know what he looks like or what he's like at all.
other men step in and run the family and you get treated like a stepchild or abused.
you want your real dad to come and get you; he's supposed to be so good; but he never comes.

I need HELP and ADVICE. PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE READ
by theyoungone in6 months ago i was d'fd and i am right now confused as to what i want to do cuse i can put my letter in for reinstatement now but i just dont know if that would be the best desicion for me.
one side of me says go back to the jw org and do all that i can in the org so that i can make it to the paradise.
but then one side says just do what u want to do til u die.

do all that i can in the org so that i can make it to the paradise
- this is a falacy invented by the wtbts, a group with recent origins that began with dissatisfaction and 19th century millenialism
what if the new system is coming soon like the org keeps saying
- this is simply a falacy of interpretation invented by the wtbts and consistently touted throughout their whole (recent) history
dont care about the flaws that the organazation might seem to have
- does have - though you say lies rather than speak plainly of things of apposition to them
do what i want and just live a double life
- each to their own
so that i can speak with my family and witness friends and not be shunned
- now that's something to consider, keeping a family - friends is a debatable term; they're conditional (see buy and sell in the bible)
all the otha's have changed their bible to fit their beliefs
- in terms of supporting one's own doctrine the jw bible is the most changed that I have heard of - and blatantly
all the otha religions are filled with hypocrisy
- other religions have organised charity groups, social justice works and will often practice more than they preach
- jwism promotes it's own doctrines (which also change), and tries to warn the world of "angry god" (an image from their own thinking)

What is the real reason witnesses ceased phongraghs and radio broadcasts?
by Tyrone van leyen init would seem that for its day using the available tecnology was a progressive move.
did the society just decide one day in a watchtower that it was all wrong.
how did everyone that had to do this work react.

It's funny they can't seem to make the connection
That's the whole story isn't it

Faith and beliefs only comes in when we don’t really know something.
Not so - and isn't belief what you personally know ?
I agree that the jw use of the word "know" is dishonest, perhaps in ignorance, but certainly postulative and ungrounded - but that's just jwism. You don't "know" that about other people - you simply believe it, or maybe you only have faith in it.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 12-24-06 WT Study (Keep in God's Love)
by blondie instart of article.
q1, 2) how can you remain in god's love?.
1) jehovah loves the world of mankind so much that he gave his only-begotten son in order that those exercising faith in him might have everlasting life.

Your answer to a JW's question "What is an alternative?"
by ukescott ina jw that i engaged in a series of debate finally posed this question.
i can see that he is running out of his "canned" answers and he wants to defend his organization desperately or he doesn't want to admit that he is dead wrong.
so he uses this faulty logic to depend his belief system.

The alternative is life - to go home - to yourself and to the creator

Have you heard: "Worldly people just live for the holidays"
by Gopher inwhile i was a jw, around this time of year i would often hear jw's saying that non-jw's live only for their holidays, because that's all they have to look forward to.
after all, they don't have the wonderful hope of living in paradise on earth forever under the loving direction of jehovah's organization !!
so, for those of you who are former jw's or never were jw's, what would you say about that idea (wordly people only live for holidays), and why do jw's really say that?.

INSIGHT ON THE SCRIPTURES
by lighthouse19something ini realize the publication is biased toward the jw doctrines, but is it accurate on the noncontroversial topics.
i spent good $ on it when it came out, and i wondered if anyone had opinions.

Opinion ?
Their acceptance to literal understanding and interpretation leaves them clueless regarding scriptures

It's ok fly - you're twenty-two years young - lot of wasted time, but you have so much more
i was just planning to go to be a regular pioneer and hopefully attend "the pioneer school" then MTS
well......you didn't.......good for you
chill out now, the antedote takes a while to get used to............there's a lot of people here that wished they were twenty-two
